Onondaga Nation – “4th grade math is fun,” said Grace as she was assembling her number in Ms. Powless’ math class.
Ms. Powless’ fourth grade math class has started the year examining the importance of place value.
“It is an important concept,” said Ms. Powless. “The new NYS Common Core Standards are more rigorous than before. Children need a firm grasp of place value to succeed.”
It looks as though children are on their way.
