Math Class
September 23, 2011

Kindergarten is off to an exciting start of the school year in mathematics.
Mrs. Thornton’s class has began the year learning about sorting and classifying. They have used titles, hearts, animals, dinos, wooden blocks, the Promethean board and even M&M candies!
Mrs. Thornton states, “These activities such as sorting and classifying are great. We talk about ‘attributes’ a lot. We are beginning to notice what makes things the same and how they are different.”
The Kindergarteners are become very good at defining attributes of objects. The students are able to identify and classify colors, shapes, sizes, as well as shiny, bumpy and smooth.  Mrs. Thornton is very proud of her class. Great job Braxton, Nadia, Leighann, Cody, Jade, Ivy, Jerome, Tysen, Eddie, Keinna, and Katlyn.
