Onondaga Nation – On October 27, 2011, there was a different kind of fund raising event. Usually classrooms hold bake sales to raise funds for their end of the year trip.   This time ONS was raising money for lacrosse nets.
When springtime arrives, so do the lacrosse sticks. Boys carry their sticks to school so they can play during recess or on their way home.
Then about 6 years ago the school began to hold its annual spring lacrosse/soccer  game for the school. But this past spring it was difficult to find a goal.
Mr. Gryzlo of the 6th grade said, “Last year we actually had to stand up a picnic bench for a goal. I decided then that our school needed to have our own goals.”
This past Thursday, students and staff brought in delicious baked goods to help in raising money for the goals.
“It more than exceeded my expectations.”, said Mr. Gryzlo of the support for the bake sale. “We are much closer to our goal of $200 for the lacrosse goals.  I really appreciate all of the help from the students, staff, and comminuty.”
If you were not able to attend the bake sale but would like to help out, you can stop by the office and make donation which will be used to purchase the nets.
