Update on Positive Cases - January 6, 2021

January 6, 2021

Good Afternoon -

The district was recently informed of the following positive cases that occurred over the holiday break:

  • A staff member at LaFayette High School tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member has not been in close contact with other school employees recently.

  • A digital learner at LaFayette Big Picture School tested positive.

  • A student at LaFayette High School tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last in attendance before the holiday break.

  • Two digital learners at the Onondaga Nation School tested positive for COVID-19.

We wish these individuals a quick recovery.

Also, please mark your calendars for Wednesday January 13th. We will have another asymptomatic COVID-19 testing clinic for students and staff with locations at the High School/Big Picture School and Grimshaw Elementary. Once all of the details have been finalized, I will send out additional information regarding the testing clinic. Thank you to our partners at Onondaga County for all of their assistance with COVID testing.

Please be safe - wash those hands, stay six feet apart, wear a face covering, stay home when you are sick and contact your doctor if you are experiencing symptoms.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Belfield
