Shadow Days and Internships
We are always seeking new internship opportunities for our students.  If you believe you have a great connection to a site, please give us a call.  If you need to know more information on how to present our Big Picture Internship model, please call David @ 315-504-1000. 

STEP College Planning, October 25th
STEP will host a college night to work with students and families on picking the best college and affording that college.  It is never too early to start planning.  This will be held Wednesday, October 25th, 6pm at Big Picture.  Dinner will also be provided.  To sign up  for this event please email David at dstablein@lafayetteschools.org  

SPCA Supplies Needed
If you have any old jeans, shirts, hoodies or stuffed animals please bring them to BIG PICTURE.  One of our students is helping CNY SPCA as her senior thesis project.  

Morning Routine
Doors will be locked until 7:30am.  
You may obtain breakfast starting at 7:45am.
Wherever you enter the building (BP entrance or HS cafeteria) is where you will stay until 7:45am when the interior doors will be opened.

Price Chopper Tools for Schools Program:

Sole Hope is an organization that was created to make closed toed shoes for African children.  Without shoes, children and adults are walking barefoot.  They became susceptible to injuries and jiggers, sand fleas.  With a simple solution and recycled material, shoes can be made to protect African people from illness and injury.  The organization also helps African men and women by teaching them a trade – how to make shoes.
Big Picture 201’s have been working since the start of the school year to make shoes for Sole Hope.  Their goal is 300 pairs.  You can help by sending in DENIM.  If you have any new or slightly used denim please drop it off at our front desk.

MySchoolBucks increases online transaction fee: Nov. 14, 2017: LaFayette Central School District parents and guardians who use the online payment system MySchoolBucks to manage their child’s meal accounts will soon see an increase in the vendor’s transaction fee. Effective Dec. 11, the fee for electronically adding funds to a child’s meal account will increase to $2.49 per transaction. LaFayette educator joins Master Teacher program: Oct. 20, 2017: LaFayette Central School District educator Kristin Angello has been named a New York State Master Teacher by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The statewide program identifies and rewards high-performing K-12 instructors who teach science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) classes, including courses on the advanced-placement, honors, Regents and International Baccalaureate levels. Students celebrate homecoming traditions: Oct. 13, 2017: When it comes to school spirit, there’s no shortage of it at LaFayette Junior/Senior High School. On Oct. 13, students in grades 7-12 gathered in the school’s gymnasium to kick off Homecoming Weekend 2017.
