SOLE HOPE
Sole Hope is an organization that was created to make closed toed shoes for African children.  Without shoes, children and adults are walking barefoot.  They became susceptible to injuries and jiggers, sand fleas.  With a simple solution and recycled material, shoes can be made to protect African people from illness and injury.  The organization also helps African men and women by teaching them a trade – how to make shoes.

Big Picture 201’s have been working since the start of the school year to make shoes for Sole Hope.  Their goal is 300 pairs.  You can help by sending in DENIM.  If you have any new or slightly used denim please drop it off at our front desk.

For more information about this important service-learning project you can go to the Sole Hope website:

Parent Today: School therapy dog programs promote social and academic skill sets: Aug. 14, 2017: A few days after my family recently welcomed a puppy, I watched as my 7-year-old son held the fuzzy bundle on his lap and read one of his favorite books out loud to the dog.
