*If you are interested in learning more about Big Picture please attend.  We will discuss our daily routines, unique teaching and learning styles as well as our one student at a time approach through individualized learning plans.
Staff, current students and parents will be available to answer questions and talk about projects they have completedd.  We hope to see you there!


201 Highlight
Jamus has been attending an internship at on Tuesdays for 5 weeks. is a tech company that acts as a hub for freelance translators. Translators can become members of to better connect with customers looking for translation services. While at, Jamus has been learning to use HTML and CSS, and also the programming language Javascript. At a recent project set up meeting, I met with Jamus and two gentlemen that act as his mentors in different capacities. We identified am opportunity at to help them better meet their members' needs. Jamus will be creating a widget that will bring functionality to freelance translators' personal sites. Jamus will use’s API to build a calendar that will let potential clients for the translators know their availability. This project will benefit and advance Jamus’s computer language and coding skills.

301 Service Learning
April’s 301’s have gone to Meachem Elementary every Friday to help in the morning with their Kindergarten class.  They have provided reading support, lesson planning and even took them to the Meachem ice rink for a morning of fun!

401's prepare for life after high school
Walt’s 401’s have been accepted to over 9 colleges / universities so far.  Currently all seniors are looking at furthering their education.

101's Encompassing Big Picture
The 101’s have officially figured out the philosophy and endless possibilities Big Picture has to offer.  They work together as a team and learn daily about each others interests.  All 101’s have been out on shadow days and many have secured year long internships.

Sole Hope is an organization that was created to make closed toed shoes for African children.  Without shoes, children and adults are walking barefoot.  They became susceptible to injuries and jiggers, sand fleas.  With a simple solution and recycled material, shoes can be made to protect African people from illness and injury.  The organization also helps African men and women by teaching them a trade – how to make shoes.
Big Picture 201’s have been working since the start of the school year to make shoes for Sole Hope.  Their goal is 300 pairs.  You can help by sending in DENIM.  If you have any new or slightly used denim please drop it off at our front desk.

SPCA Supplies Needed
If you have any old jeans, shirts, hoodies or stuffed animals please bring them to BIG PICTURE.  One of our students is helping CNY SPCA as her senior thesis project.  

Morning Routine
Doors will be locked until 7:30am.  
You may obtain breakfast starting at 7:45am.
Wherever you enter the building (BP entrance or HS cafeteria) is where you will stay until 7:45am when the interior doors will be opened.
