The evening started with pizza and salad for families, where families could meet each other.   There was a story time with Mrs. Fisher, along with several family literacy activity tables for making bookmarks, character puppets and nature journals.  Kyra from ... more >>
Dr. Seuss Day!: "In Katroo, every year, on the day you were born They start the day right in the bright early morn When the Birthday Honk-Honker hikes high up Mt. Zorn and lets loose a big blast on the big Birthday Horn. And the voice of the horn calls out loud as it plays: "Wake up! For today is your Day of all Days!"  March 2nd was Dr. Seuss' Birthday and National Read Across America Day!  Grimshaw celebrated by wearing red, making Thing 1 & Thing 2 crafts, snacks and photo-ops, and wonderful guest readers who came in to share some of their favorite Suess works!  Organized by our Reading Department, all classes in grades PK through 3 got to celebrate the day exploring the world of Dr. Seuss and his fun characters.  Thank you ... more >>
Lancers on the Ice!: While the Syracuse Crunch may not have come out in the end with a win, on February 28th the crowd at the War Memorial Arena was filled with patriotic spirit as our 5th and 6th grade chorus, under the direction of Ms. Cook, sang the National Anthem!  Wearing green and gold, and showing a lot of Lancer Pride, the students kicked the game off with great energy and in great voice!  Congratulations to all involved and here's hoping the Crunch wins next time!  If you missed the game but would like the hear the awesome voices that fill the Grimshaw halls, mark your calendars for the Spring Concert on May 27th at the LaFayette Jr/Sr High School auditorium!  more >>
Student Council Serves Up Breakfast!: On Februrary 28th, Grimshaw's 6th grade Student Council members met at The Ronald McDonald House and cooked up some breakfast for families staying there as they visit loved ones in the hospital.  Using food generously donated by our friends at Green Hills Farms, the Student Council members (and some family helpers!) made pancakes, bacon, eggs and juice.  The smell of the cooking bacon even brought down some families to eat as we were there!  After the meal was cooked, the students got a tour of the faciltiy and got to hang out in the lounge.  Congratulations to all volunteers and thank you for showing great Lancer Pride in the community!
