We are underway with Student Council. Students have been coming in and helping with GAPS projects. These consist of helping to count soup labels, box tops and Capri sun pouches. We have put together a schedule for our school store that will open tomorrow. Student Council members will be rotating turns to run the store every Tuesday morning.

School store is up and running. Students are doing a great job and it is a great opportunity for working on some Math skills.

The Apple Fest water stop was a great success. Students were able to see the amount of effort it takes to run a race and also how to be there to support the runners. Everyone did a great job!

In October we met as a group and put together quilts to donate. Stuents worked on measuring, cutting and tying. In the end the quilts looked great.

Also in October students stayed after school to help students in grades 1-3 with their rollerskating skills. Students walked around and helped tie skates and hlep kids up when they fell or just walk beside them to help them with their skating.

In November a few students have started to mentor with other students in the school.

In December we will be meeting on Monday December 3rd after school to discuss upcoming activities or possiblilities.
Decembers meeting we discussed a couple different activities for the beginning of the new year.
-In January we will be collecting donations for the VA hospitol. We will assign each classroom a specific item to bring in. We will be looking for toiletries(ex: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampo, deoderant etc)
-we will participate in the Optimist Winterfest
-In March we will be picking a week to run a spirit week. The kids will be coming up with themes so keep an eye out for the themes.
