  • For after school sporting activities, students are transported back to the high school at various times in the evening and during the day on weekends depending on the sport they are playing. If a bus is later than expected parents should contact the coach of that sporting event directly.
  • Families with address changes are asked to notify their child's school at least one week in advance of an address change.
  • Buses will leave the Bus Garage between 6:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. each morning to pick up all students in the LaFayette School District. Adjustments to the bus routes will be made during the first week of school. Students will arrive at the Onondaga Nation School by 7:30 a.m. The students that attend the Jr./Sr. High School will arrive no earlier than 7:25 a.m. The buses will then proceed to the Grimshaw School and students who participate in the breakfast program will be released beginning at 7:40 a.m. while the remaining students will be released off the bus no earlier than 7:50 a.m.
  • All private and parochial students will be picked up by their respective buses for the school they are attending. In the afternoon, students will ride their respective bus home or meet an activity run bus at the LaFayette Jr./Sr. High School to ride an activity bus home, depending on the time.
  • Be sure to carefully check to see which route and bus your child(ren) have been assigned to. There are slight adjustments in a few routes for this year. If you have any questions on any of the routes, or if it is not clear what bus your child should ride, please contact Ron Cooper in the Transportation Office at 677-9700. You are welcome to call this number whenever you have a concern, comment or suggestion. The following pages list the morning bus routes for the upcoming school year.

Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year to our LaFayette Students and Families!!

Here are a few reminders that will help us with school bus safety:

PLEASE REMEMBER: Passing a stopped school bus is against the law!

The law states that drivers must STOP when a school bus has its red lights, even if the school bus is:

  • In a parking lot
  • On school grounds
  • On a multiple lane roadway
  • On the opposite side of a divided highway

You can be ticketed for passing a school bus while its red lights are flashing in any of the above situations.
