At LaFayette School District, we take bullying seriously. To report an incidence of bullying, please use this button which is now called the Tip Line. The Tip Line also offers the possibility of reporting concerns in addition to bullying. You will see the additional concerns named in the dropdowns. According to Dan Olweus, Ph.D. and Susan Limber, Ph.D, "Bullying is when someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person who has a hard time defending himself or herself. The definition of bullying has three major components: First, it is aggressive behavior that involves unwanted, negative actions. Second, bullying typically involves a pattern of behavior repeated over time. Finally, it involves an imbalance of power or strength. Bullying can take many forms, such as physical hitting, verbal taunts, spreading of false rumors, intentional social exclusion, and sending nasty messages on a cell phone or over the Internet."
