LaFayette CSD frequently monitors and tests its schools' drinking water to make sure it is safe for consumption. Bacteria testing is performed daily and lead and copper testing is performed every three years in compliance with the county's testing regulations. In the wake of the discoveries that drinking water in some New York schools (and beyond) tested positive for lead, LaFayette elected to have its three-year test - originally scheduled for Aug. 2017 - performed in April 2016, which is 16 months ahead of schedule, to ensure its water remains safe and clean.
