3/14/2020 State of Emergency Onondaga County
March 14, 2020
Dear LaFayette School Community:
The Onondaga County Superintendents met with County Executive Ryan McMahon earlier today to discuss COVID-19 and the potential impact on schools.
By now, you are likely all aware of the County Executive’s announcement of a State of Emergency in Onondaga County.
As per the order of the County Executive, students will be out of school beginning Monday March 23, 2020. Students are scheduled to return on Tuesday, April 14th.
The district plans to share more information tomorrow regarding this announcement. As we prepare for continuity of instruction for all of our students we anticipate using next week to solidify plans to meet the needs of our students.
We recognize that some of you may be uncomfortable sending your children to school. Please know that we respect your right as parents to choose what is best for your child.
Again, more information will be sent out earlier in the week. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns: jbelfield@lafayetteschools.org
Thank you,
Jeremy Belfield
Superintendent of Schools
LaFayette Central School District
