COVID 19 Testing Available for Students and Staff

Dear LaFayette School Community:
Yesterday Onondaga County announced that COVID 19 testing will be available for students and staff members who are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID 19 starting on Monday September 21, 2020.
Testing will be available Monday through Friday at NBT Bank Stadium starting September 21, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The hours for testing may be expanded by the county at a later date based on the needs of the community.
Testing will be conducted via a saliva sample from symptomatic students and staff members with results typically available within 24-36 hours. Results will be shared with testing participants via a secure online portal. Information on how to obtain testing results will be provided at the testing location.
Any child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is able to provide parental consent.
Students and staff members with symptoms participating in testing must:

Pre-register for a test by calling the Upstate Medical COVID Hotline at 315-464-2582 and selecting option #4.

Testing participants should not eat or drink anything, including chewing gum, mints or lozenges, within 30 minutes of reporting for testing, and should not have brushed their teeth or used mouthwash within three hours of the test.

Testing participants must abstain from smoking, vaping, or using smokeless tobacco products for 30 minutes prior to the test.
