April 8, 2021
Good Evening-
Here are a few important updates:
Update on Positive Cases
The district was recently informed of two positive COVID cases in our school:
-
Two students at the Jr/Sr High recently tested positive for COVID-19. All close contacts and individuals recommended for quarantine have been contacted by the district.
We wish these individuals a quick recovery. The district has been in communication with the Onondaga County Health Department regarding these cases. Please continue to monitor your children for symptoms of COVID and be sure to contact your health care provider as soon as symptoms occur.
-
LaFayette Jr/Sr High School, LaFayette Big Picture School, and Grimshaw Elementary will continue to provide in person instruction
-
The Onondaga Nation School will continue with digital learning.
COVID Vaccine Available for Ages 16+
New York State recently announced that the COVID vaccine is available for all individuals ages 16 and up. Earlier today, I notified all families with students ages 16 and up of the possibility of a vaccine clinic, sponsored by Onondaga County, for eligible students. The communication included a survey link from Onondaga County to gauge interest for the vaccine clinic. If you did not receive the communication and you are the parent of a student ages 16 and up, please contact me. Thank you to our partners at Onondaga County for their continued partnership and support!
Please be safe - wash those hands, wear a face covering, stay home when you are sick and contact your doctor if you are experiencing symptoms.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Belfield
