Update - Week Ending September 17, 2021

September 17, 2021

Dear LaFayette Families and Staff Members -

Thank you for a great first full week of school!

I created a quick video with highlights to celebrate the work of our staff and students - click here. Here is a link to the slideshow - click here.

We do have some work to do to combat COVID 19. Please be sure to follow the safety precautions by wearing a mask, considering getting vaccinated in consultation with your physician, staying home when you are sick, testing on a regular basis, washing your hands, and maintaining social distance.

We are seeing a bit of a surge in COVID cases in our surrounding community. Unfortunately some of our students and staff members have been impacted by the spread of the virus. We wish these individuals a quick recovery. Here is an breakdown of our 21 cases reported since 7/1/2021 (the majority of which have occurred since the last week of August):

Please consider signing up for surveillance testing - click here. We conduct testing every Tuesday in all schools. Please sign up before Monday. You can also sign your child up to receive diagnostic testing if they develop symptoms during the school day. Community based testing is also available for individuals who develop symptoms outside of school hours - https://covid19.ongov.net/appointments/

Thank you for working together to combat the virus, and to keep our schools safely open for in person learning. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. Thank you for a great first full week of school!

Sincerely,

Jeremy Belfield
