Community School: Needs Assessment Survey
Dear Families:In collaboration with OCM BOCES, we are working to develop a community school in the LaFayette Central School District. The purpose of a community school is to provide services for students, their families, and the surrounding school community, to ensure that each and every student succeeds in school and in life.
As you know, sometimes students face challenges that affect their ability and readiness to learn and develop. A community school creates and organizes partnerships with local and systemic resources (programs and services) and meaningfully connects schools, homes, and neighborhoods to support student success. Among the first steps to launching a community school is conducting a needs assessment that helps understand barriers to student success, identify existing and potential resources, and set priorities. Multiple stakeholders contribute to the needs assessment, including parents, teachers, students, and community members. This is why we need your help!
Your honest and thoughtful responses will help with the community school planning and development off to a strong start. Please note that this survey is completely anonymous and is being administered by our partners in the Office of Youth Development at OCM BOCES.
