Research shows that collective leadership has a stronger influence on student achievement than individual leadership. The Teacher Leader Model Standards seek to generate collective leadership by fostering professional discussion about best practices and advancing new roles for teachers to serve.”

The following chart provides a method for identifying each of the 7 domains of the Teacher Leader.  Each domain speaks to strengths and qualities a Teacher Leader will possess.  Click on each box to go to a summary of the functions of each domain.  If you have an interest in becoming a Teacher Leader as an exercise you can rate your "functionality" as Established or Developing for each domain.  A full document summarizing all 7 domains is available by clicking on the library book cart icon at the bottom of this page and every page where you see the library book cart icon.
